Puppy Program

Eight to sixteen weeks of age is the most important time in a puppy's life. It is a crucial period for a puppy to develop its social skills. For a puppy to learn how to interact appropriately with other dogs, it must be socialised with a variety of other puppies of different shapes and sizes! If your puppy is not adequately socialised at this age there is a high risk that your pet will have trouble interacting with other dogs as an adult. Everything a puppy encounters should be made a positive and pleasant experience. This will help prevent future behaviour problems.

Ziggy's TLC for a happy dog + healthy you runs a 5 week Puppy Program and an 8 week Puppy Lifestyle Program. These programs are especially designed for puppies between 8 and 16 weeks of age.

The 5 week Puppy Program is designed to assist owners and puppies to develop a relationship based on trust, respect and clear communication.  In the 5-week puppy program you will learn about the basics of K9 communication and body language, handling, bite inhibition, toilet training and preventing some unwanted natural behaviours such as jumping, digging and chewing. Your puppy will learn basic manners such as responding to their name,   “sit”, “leave it”, begin to come when called, and begin to walk on a lead.

The 8 week Puppy Lifestyle Program is a comprehensive program that will teach you everything from the 5-week Puppy Program as well as everything else your dog needs to know to become a well behaved 4 legged K9 itizen! Ziggy can also fit your dog with correct walking equipment if required.

The 8-week Puppy Lifestyle Program goes above and beyond basic puppy training so that your dog’s behaviours become reliable in all environments and everyday life situations. Your puppy will learn to do all the things from the 5-week Puppy Program as well as other aspects of K9 etiquette so you and your dog may never need another training lesson again!

At Ziggy's TLC we make teaching your dog good manners easy, fun and stress free for both you and your dog!

All training is done using positive reinforcement techniques. This means all desirable behaviour is rewarded, which in turn increases the frequency of the behaviour happening again. NO CHOKER CHAINS ARE USED. All classes are taken with a qualified behavioural trainer.
