Domestic Pet Rabbits!
Live at Tweed Heads and enjoy a Domestic Rabbit as your Pet.
Live in Coolangatta with your Pet Rabbit and the Queensland Government will subject you to confiscation and a severe fine.
If you move to Queensland from any other state, you'll have to make other arrangements for your family's pet rabbit. The Queensland Government will confiscate your pet and fine you if you try and bring your pet into this state.
You can bring your Dog, Cat, Bird, Guinea Pig, Pet Rat and Mice- but NOT your Rabbit!
A domestic pet rabbit is not the same breed as you see on TV running around out west. A domestic rabbit is affectionate, can be trained to a leash and to use a litter tray. He will live happily indoors and become a member of your family. He will not bark or chase the postman.
Mention it to an interstate or overseas visitor that the Government prevents Queenslanders from keeping a rabbit as a pet and experience their amazement. They can't beleive it!!
And the first question they will ask is - Why Not???????
Why are Queenslanders treated differently from the rest of Australia and the rest of the world? Try and find anywhere else on this planet where citizens are subject to the discrimination of not being permitted to keep a pet rabbit!
This year there will be another effort made to convince the Queensland Government to give its citizens equal opportunity as others citizens enjoy . We'll keep you posted!!!
